Mate of mine got an £80 fine for having it in the glove box still attached to the letter after getting it in the post office.

God knows why he didn't display it but was a hefty fine

i thought it was ok as long as you had paid for it, it wouldnt show up on the PNC?? Then just bung it in the windscreen when it shows up

I bought my tax disc online after i was told it passed its MOT then went and picked it up and drove it straight home
