Yes mate. Is the CPU retail or OEM, if it's oEM your gonna need a CPU cooler, you don't need a soundcard as the motherboard will have onboard sound, but dedicates are obviously better.

You could probably build the same spec PC but cheaper using different branded (and reliable) parts TBH.

You don't need the sound card BTW.

gfx card - same sorta price no matter who makes it
cpu -...
motherboard - could save 10-20 but is it worth it?
tower - again, could save a few quid but you'd get a shitty looking thing
PSU - get what you pay for
Ram - hardly save much, plus thats good ram
HDD - much of a muchness, price and performance

Probably would have been better if he actually put prices up, then I could have said whether he/I could get them cheaper or not.

Meh.

cheers for the replys i will edit my first post with the price (dunno why i didn't do that before my bad)
also one of my mate has recommended cheaper/different parts i will put these next to the ones i have put down and any help on choosing would be grate. like i said i would love to save some cash if the cheaper parts wouldn't make much of a difference in performance.

just another question the reason for the sound card was so i could play 5.1 headphones on games would i still be able to do this with the motherboards built in one? one last thing i was also considering over clocking some of the parts what could this be a good idea and maybe even downgrade on parts due to me coverclocking them anyways?

for overclocking you just need a decent PSU/RAM/Motherboard and a cpu that likes to be clocked, some can only take another 1-200mhz, some can take another 1gighz

you could just get corsair value ram, and a 500w PSU, you would save money, not notice performance difference, just wouldnt be wise to o/c it much.

That mobo has 7.1 channel, so it'll fine for your turtle bitches

What exactly will you be using the PC for?

Re. the graphics card - you could get one much much cheaper if don't intend to use more than one monitor (I'm talking between 1/4 and 1/2 the price of the one you've listed)

Just wanting it for gaming really looking to play BF3 on it with no problem but last a little while so i don't have to upgrade again for some time. as far as the graphics card i was always told putting more money into that was the best way to increase performance/graphics, i do not plan on having 2 monitors though or going down the sli route or crossfire is that a bad decision?

Only shit thing about GFX cards is, in a few months theyre 150quid cheaper than you paid

Overclockers aren't the cheapest place although their deals can be OK. Might be worth looking at Scan.co.uk for parts and sign up to Hexus.net forums (get posting; need 20+ posts) as you can get free P&P at Scan - i ended up buying bits from overclockers (mostly deals) and scan (mostly expensive parts), and it saved me about £100.

As for the GPU, i'd also look at ATI/AMD as they generally give you more bang for buck although their Catalyst drivers can be a bit crud. And if you're looking at OCuk i'm guessing you're already on the forums? Some decent info to be had on there.

Oh and read reviews/forums posts about the hardware you're planning to buy - mainly as it can save you some headaches of known issues/quirks with the gear.

Edit - Might be worth looking on the OCuk For Sale board, you can pick up some real bargins!

also, if you sign up to hexus, dont just make 20 "thats nice" "cool" "wicked" posts as they will not give you access to the free postage. they have lots of sub forums on there, bound to find something you're interested in
