hey all am new to this site and not sure where to post this lol

i have a 1.0 blue corsa ls and it is using oil like we drink water lol so i had a compression test done to day and i think the results arnt good

cylinder 1 = 55psi
cylinder 2 = 70psi
cylinder 3 = 200 psi

so is there any cheap way to fix this problem

possibly head gasket as one side of its loads lower than the other although could be a list of problems... bigger/better engine required imo

theres not alot to the 12v engine but if your not mechanical minded then i really wouldnt bother trying to sort it yourself, id look for a replacement engine

see i'd disagree, if your on about power then dont have any expectations but for reliability the 1.2 16v i had in a envoy was spot on
some of the engine mounts are the same as 1.0l aswell i think

where wud be the best place to pick a good 1.2 engine up for pretty cheap

the 1.0s as reliable as the 1.2 and there no dramatic increase in power of fuel economy so id say its pointless doing a conversion unless going to the 1400 or 1800 engines

a would get a bigger engine just the insurance will go up loads already paying just under £2000 on the 1.0

you can get a good running engine on ebay for bout £200 mate for a 1.0/1.2

if you plan on keeping the car then pay for the headgasket to be done imo.

you could buy a 2nd hand engine but theres no guarantee the HG on that wont go in a weeks time

but you can get a low miled engine n do all the gaskets when the engines out of the car. be like a all new engine again lol

I would put another 1.0 in there as the looms are different to the 1.2's i believe so not really worth the hassle based on the gains imo.

i wasnt realy after more power just for the car to reach 70 with out struggeling lol a will try find a 1.0 as it will be easyier to change when a figure out how haha
