enquiring about a car in someones back garden?

Basically its an mx5 thats been sitting gathering mold for as at least 5 years, the grass has grown very high around it so its safe to say its not been used

Do i just chap the door and offer monies?

Out of interest why do you want that one? Probably full of holes if it's been sat on grass for five years.

Just knock on the door and say you were wondering what the story with the car is as you've noticed its been Sat for a while and u were interested in buying it. Done it myself plenty of times when I've seen cars without tax on.

A bloke came to my dads house a few years ago and asked if he could buy his Merc that had been Sat on the drive for 2 years for 3 grand.

yup - sounds like a basket case!

I'd be very weary of buying a car that has been 'abondoned' in long grass for 5 years+. It will be a shit heap.

Reason im thinking about it is the possibility of getting it for much cheapness as its been sat for as long

Then either crazy project if its not a bag of nails or break it if it is

Just knock and ask mate, can only say no, i seen a VTR down near the canal near me a few month back, was out of tax, could tell it had been there a while, so knocked on the guys door and asked if he wanted to sell. He didnt as it goes, but had a good chat to him for 20 mins or so about cars in general

Ive done it before with a nova, woman told me she had it for sale about a month before but loves it too much so cant sell, a month later and its away to the £2k trade in scheme

There's a nova convertible by me we knocked on the other day only wants £250 for it and don't look in that bad of a state either. So knock on can only say no.

Depends if it's hassle, if it needs welding and you can't do that yourself you're better finding on that doesn't have holes in the floor.
