Don't think that's the sort of car Erchie has in mind If it was, I'd offer a Volvo T5

200 bhp with loads of potential. I had one at 250bhp and 285lb/ft. I loved it. But the old man image does stick.

Apologies if you've already said, but was this with the same insurer or the cheapest you found with another?

Ah right, so they're simply not competitive on that particular motor then. I've chucked away policies half way through to get a car I wanted in the past. Go for it, you'll undoubtedly find cheaper elsewhere, you should make enquires if you haven't already

Hows your insurance increased so much? Do you have fresh points on your licence?

Also have you tried specialist insurance companies?

Same. Ive done quotes with and without no claims bonus and it went up by about £100. They were more botherd about no actual claim against you.

My mate sold his car and paid the rest of the insurance in full (about 800), just to get an extra years no claims

No license is clean, i'm with HIC on a modified policy with Highway.

Bit of a waste cancelling a policy nearly halfway through.

Wouldnt a £3k CTR be a bit of a nail with high mileage?
And about problematic VAG's, every car / engine / manufacturer can be problematic.
Just hold tight and wait and get a decent car rather than jumping in and ending up with cars that go wrong, resulting in bad experiences

I agree with this, or at least wait until the end of your policy to get the NCB and then think about buying a new car

Think i'll just save up a little longer to be honest.

Maybe buy a winter runner once the GSi has sold.

My lad drives a ITR DC2, he's only 26, is with HIC, has a number of accidents and is paying less than £800 per year! It's bizarre!

Being under 25 may be a contributing factor, I'm not sure how much of a difference that makes any more

I have a ctr and im only 23.
No points, 2 yncb and iirc 1029 a year with brentacre, which is just slightly less than my last premium.

Saying that when my renewal was due in may i asked for quotes from flux direct, keith micheals and performance direct were quoting me around the 3k mark.
