Have you tried snorting water and spraying it back out?
Have you ever broken your nose?
Do you drink lots of alcohol?

I had/have similiar, mine is a milk allergy though. Had a totally milk free diet and everything was sound, I only found out after getting referred to a dietition as I always had phlem in the morning and every 3-6 month i'd get a chest infection. Cut it out totally, milk, butter, yoghurts even to the extent of things with milk in the flavouring and see how it goes, worth a shot.

I've had two lots of septoplasty on my nose for breathing problems.
I wouldn't advise it though because I still have trouble, and you feel like hell after the op!

Give it a go, I drank milk all my life but seems it developed, I still have odd bit now but if I get carried away I'll get a bad throat an onset of feeling rough, some stuff seem to trigger it more than others it seems, odd stuff like if I'd have 2 steak bakes from greggs! Mine became a problem as I'd gip from phelgm which made me spew 90% of times if I had an hangover.
