vga isnt low resolution.

it doesnt have HDMI. Why not keep your eye open on Scan.co.uk's today only page? they refresh offers everyday, and you are bound to find something that suits your needs

Just over budget though, at £114.

I recently bought a 22" LG HD monitor for about £90 or something like that off eBuyer, pretty good brand/build quality IMO.

The E2260S is meant to be pretty cack, so i wouldn't bother with that. As said, keep an eye out on Scan/Ebuyer/Overclockers and see what offers come up. Then do a quick google for reviews and see if the monitor has any issues before buying.

As for connection, have a look to see what you have on your graphics card. If it's recent then it will probably be a DVI-I (carries analog as well as digital; so can use VGA monitors), or possibly HDMI/Displayport. If it's VGA from the PC then you're stuck with a analog connection.
Note that DVI and HDMI are technically (digital side; HDMI doesn't carry analog) the same; difference between them are connectors (can get adaptors/cables) and the fact HDMI carries audio, although that's likely of no use to you with a monitor.

Edit - Even though VGA will handle the 1080p resolution, using VGA between an LCD monitor and a PC is a bit backwards, digital (PC) -> analog (VGA) -> digital (LCD), and will result in a cack image. Better off keeping it digital if possible (so HDMI/DVI to HDMI/DVI etc).

Dom - my one is the E2260 (not the 'S' - not sure what the difference is) and it's been spot on TBH, in fact I'm using it now connected to my laptop via HDMI.

The only thing is that it doesn't have speakers (but who uses shitty monitor speakers anyway!) so you just connect your speakers to it via a standard 3.5mm jack cable.

Edit - this is my one http://www.ebuyer.com/product/265027 although I paid less than that price recently!

Old man was looking at it a while ago, it (e2260s) seemed to get bad reviews and is only VGA. The 2260v is suppose to be a lot better but is a bit more. A benq g2222(hdl i think) or a iiyama e2208 are worth a shout, only 21.5" but the PQ is pretty decent for the money (£110 ish).

The one Dom is talking about is slightly different (it hasn't got HDMI).

My one has HDMI and as I've said above it's perfect. My business involves selling and fixing computers so I wouldn't recommend or indeed buy something that was crap

The LG 2260S is the one to stay away from, the 2260V is meant to be good.
Have a look at the BenQ G2222HDL and Iiyama E2208HDD.

Sam - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/265027 is the S version, VGA only etc etc http://www.ebuyer.com/product/165288 is the V version.

Sure the panels are the same, just the HDS has built in speakers? Either way the panel is decent for the money.
