Decided to do something a bit different from the norm for my stag do so 3 of us have booked ourselves on for a track day at Knockhill on the bikes.
Never been out on track on a bike before but I know the track fairly well.
Looking for any pointers and advice on what to do tyre pressure wise, is it worth playing around or just go out as it is for the road?
Theory behind it will be similair for cars so any advice welcome.

Funny you should say that, I've left a 7 week gap before the wedding day so I have time for a broken bone etc..

What bike is it?
Maybe worth setting up the suspension properly for your weight and possibly lower front by 10mm for better turn in.

from what i can gather you need an lsd, cage, harnesses, buckets, adjustable arbs, 4 pot calipers, white wheels, coilovers, a huge spoiler and a wooden bit on the front

Its this I'm taking on. My pride and joy.. If I enjoy it I'm going to build a cheaper more crash friendly track bike over the winter so I can have the best of both worlds.

For tyre pressures i run 30psi front 28psi rear.
Which group have you gone in? The only advice i give is to relax and enjoy it. Take plenty of refreshments with you as six or seven 20min sessions takes it out of you! Don't go trying to break lap records, as said, there's plenty of sessions to build up speed as you get to know the track and your bike. Don't be afraid to overtake or get overtake, there's always going to be someone faster than you.
fter this you'll be addicted and you'll be buying a dedicated track bike, tyre warmers and a van!

You'll learn more about what your bike/tyres can do more than you will riding on the road

All 3 of us are booked on in the novice group. Were not shy on the road but thought we would play it safe.
Already trying to get a single bike trailer. Even if I'm going again on the road bike I'll trailer it. 4hr session and the nearest petrol station is 10 mile from the track. Got a few mates going so will be giving them a 5 gallon jerry can so we dont have to worry about running short. Blade is v thirsty when its getting a hard time.
Will be recording all my sessions so will get some vids fired up and should help me to see where im good/bad/dangerous.

Did 100 mies on it and sold it. Have had a zx6r since then and now the blade.
Might be forced to sell the blade in the next few months which is going to really annoy me but a roof on the house before winter is going to have to take priority.
