I'm trying to listen to music through my headphones but every time I put a track on, near the end of the song the media scanner cuts in, stops the tunes and takes me right out of the music player for some reason.
How do I switch the scanner off and why would it be doing this in the first place? It only seems to be running the media scanner when i'm listening to music with headphones in.

Just realised that it's not just the media scanner running, the whole phone is resetting itself when this happens. Anyone in the know able to help out?

Does the whole phone reboot? I've head it happening on other handsets and the usual culprit is the apps Music, Gallery and Purchase Music terminating; solution is to put them on the ignore list (under Application Manager/Task Manager from what i remember).
Alternatively use PowerAmp player.
