Im looking at booking a holiday for the new year period (29th Dec - 5th Jan).
Have always booked online and paid in full.
Im more concerned with securing a good deal now rather then last minute but not in a position to pay for it in full.
How do you normally pay a deposit on a Holiday? do anywhere do installements? Never taken this route before and not seen it as an option online?
Thanks.

Direct Holidays, my missus has used these a few times with no issues. Think you need to pay the balance about 10 weeks before you go though. I recall deposit when we were looking at Mexico being about 10%.
Possibly best just going into an agents, they may have some good deals as it's a decent way off.

How was it all broken down? did you pay a big deposit then monthly installements or?
Looking like a trip to the travel agents I guess as cant see the option to do this online.

At the time I think we paid around 10% like Tom then could pay it off however we like within a certain period, but if it was cancelled then there was an extra fee on top.

Do they treat it as credit? ie is there interest as a result of paying in installments?

Missus' mother does this. Books through travel agents, pays £50-100 deposit then pay as much as you like when you like as long as its paid by the deadline, normally 6-10 weeks before holiday date.

When booking our trip to Vegas for Feb that we found on lastminute, there wasn't an option to pay a deposit and pay the balance by a certain date. Rang them up and did it over the phone. £150 deposit and the remaining balance is due in december sometime. I think they charged an extra £20.
