Whats the usual outcome of this? Problem I have is that the goods were signed from earlier by someone and I only just unwrapped them now to find the damage
Other problem is that the person who sent them essentially packaged them in a shite way. ie just put them in bin bags so I am assuming I will get told to GTF anyway
People just have no common sense, when ever I send something I always make sure its really well wrapped. I gave the seller a week before booking the shipping to gather some suitable packaging and he came up with sweet apart from some plastic and masking tape.
And they are the two better ones

Shame that they look mint in the photos,i would imagine you sign to say the goods have been delivered to you safely etc and you are happy with them

I dont understand that rule though, because i think the delivery driver would be fairly pissed off if you made him wait there untill you opened them all and checked them all properly before signing. I would get in touch and tell them anyway you never know.

if it comes to worst maybe ask the seller if they will pay for a refurb, if that fails ask them to pay 50% towards refurb i think thats fair.

Seller would have to put in the claim, not you.
I did this for a laptop I sold to someone and shipped via DHL once.

So as someone said, next time I sign for something I should unwrap it and check it before doing it, whilst they are standing there? They would get the right arse and rightly so. I'll bare it in mind when taking in fragile packages now though.

I had a parcel arrive from Japan which I had to collect from the Royal Mail sorting office.
I said I want to check the items before I signed for them and was told by the drip behind the counter that's illegal to open a parcel before it's signed for. I questioned him and said so if I signed for them, and find the contents is damaged where do I stand? He just stood there and shrugged his shoulders.
