40 profile are expensive and rare

195/45/16 should be fine.

Toyo prox's or eagle f1's is where its at

40's are not worth the extra (alot more) money from 45's

and if you look at the difference in the two tyre profiles, there isn't much of a noticable difference.

I'd say 195/45.

yeh only one make do 195/40, the 205/40 is most common but after the 195/45 tyre has stretched a little it is basically the same as the 40profile.

i got 50 profiles on my 16's!! desperately need some 195/45!!

I wouldn't say that. I think theres a massive difference in the tyre wall size. 40's look sooooo much thinner than my 45's.

U shouldn't have any problems with 45s, but if u got a subtle kit like me, and u can afford it, go for 40s. (195/40/16)

vauxhall's offset is 49mm anythin smaller will make the wheels sit further from the hub an put extra stress on bearings etc.
anyhtin higher will sit further inside the arch

i've know of ppl 'adjustin' offsets for example gettin 45mm offset wheels lathed to 49mm but this is removin metal from the wheel an weakenin it, 4mm may be ok but anythin more cud be too much

i had 195/45/16 tyres and mines dropped 60mm, then bought new 16's and got the 195/40/16 tyres and the differences were amazing!!!!!

One its stopped all rubbing and the look of the 40 compared to the 45 is soooooooooo much better!!!!!!

And there are more than one company making them now, Dunlop, Continental(ive got these great tyre), Pirreli(so ive heard) and another i think aswell!!!!!

So phone around for prices!!!!

I have Dunlop 195/40/16's and there is a big difference in the tyre wall size! My car is lowered 60mm and with the 45's it was rubbing slightly, now with the 40's there is no problems at all!

Think they are around £75 a piece.
