Been offered a 2004 Mondeo 1.8 for the Vectra GSi.
Seems to be worth more on the surface of it, wondered how risky that is?
Don't know much about the car but the cheapest ones are going for more than I'm asking for the Vectra.

Mondeos go for as low as 1k so if some one is looking for hassle free deal why not. As long as Mondeo has long mot... Will be easier to sell on

if it dont feel right its not worth risking. you know the vec is a half decent motor so not worth it if you end up with a mickey mouse mondeo that will open up your wallet once you get it home

I bought the Primera because it was so much cheaper than others advertised, now it turns out it was probably cheap because no-one wanted to buy them.

As Jake says if the vec is a good runner don't risk it with an old mondeo.

Did sound fairly genuine though, he wants that car but he's using his at the moment so didn't want to sell and be without a car.
Might just take a deposit and tell him to sell his himself.

I suppose the mondeo would be a lot easier to sell though and as you say for more than the vec aswell. They fetch fuck all

People only swap cars they can't sell so I'd stay away.

I've swapped several cars in the past and been fine, its not easy at the minute to sell a car so lots of people seem to be swapping.
I have done it in the past as can't go without a car, much like ians situation.

As long as you check it over in the same way you would if you were buying it I don't see the problem, you are just using your car instead of cash.

Met the guy tonight, offered him £700 and he told me it would sell for £1200, so I told him to try go and do that
Nothing wrong with either car, I just don't want to carry on faffing selling stuff. Sounds tempting but if it's such a money spinner you have to ask why he isn't just moving it on himself.
Going to speak again in a week, which coincides nicely with the start of a new month for road fund purposes, hopefully with a handful of cash.

Not touched it.
Did try and start it before so I could move it to look at the Puma and it flattened the jump pack.
Not sure what to do with it. It's worth lots of money in bits and shell is goosed, but I don't want to kill it unless I really have to.
