One of the guys who lead the SAS attack on the Iranian Embassy Siege, and who's son was killed in Afghan only a couple of years ago (going to the aid of a former pupil at the school i used to work at funnily enough) has died of a suspected heart attack.
This chap was also used as a model in the COD MW series.

Such a shame, especially after the death of his son whilst on active service.
Clearly the basis of Soap/Price in COD4 too.
RIP

His Son was a childhood friend of my Mrs. He'd tried 3 times to pass SAS selection, but failed each time due to a shoulder injury which he got through playing rugby.

I love the Iranian Embassy footage. No messing about. One thing about Thatcher. She didn't fuck about.
Pity these days our "leaders" are more bothered about fighting other peoples battles.

Aye, totally. A similar thing happened at Peterhead prison. I think it was a couple of years after the Iranian Embassy storm. A riot broke out at the prison in Scotland, and Thatcher sent the SAS in again....they won

The price these guys pay hit home when i visited the regimental graveyard at St Martins Church in Hereford (which is where Sgt Mcleese will be buried funnily enough). The graves of two of the three Bravo Two Zero guys were in the SAS plot, as well as many more, such as Tommy palmer. He's the guy who got caught in the rope and burnt when coming down the side of the Iranian Embassy walls. He crashed a car in Northern Ireland and died some years later, when under attack.
