My 172 Cup wasn't that great.
Numb steering, lofty seat, and floppy gear stick.
Other than that great fun.

They aren't, I make my own mind up, not based on what evo says.
At the price they are now however, I can't say anything but a great buy.
For a couple of grand you are getting loads of car and I wouldn't expect it to be well put together.
They aren't as fast as the internet.

For a blat down some b-roads they are brilliant fun, agile with loads of grip as long as someone hasn't put cheap tyres on.
As an everyday car they aren't great, build quality and general reliability is poor, as is the driving position. I also seem to remember mine having dreadful steering lock, tight car parks were a real pain in the arse.

Also the DIS on mine lied, broke down twice whilst showing 40+ miles of range.
I had mine 12 months, it was 3 years old and low mileage. In those 12 months a rear wheel bearing went, the heating fans packed up/got stuck, the exhaust dropped off, an injector broke, the traction control stopped working and towards the end there was a clunk from the front under heavy acceleration.

I have also been looking at the 172 & 182 on eBay and surprised how cheap they seem to be also the 207 gti 180's.

Loved mine. N/A fun with fantastic handling.
STD seats I found particularly uncomfortable so get the recaros if poss (not cheap mind)
Everything made of rubber will need replacing and they are a bit plastic inside. But for £4k they are a bargain.
They are a fantastic drivers car so no fun if you don't like changing gear and they are not brilliant on motorways.
I'd have another in a heart beat

stops you going over the speed limit, easier to just keep your foot fully down than floating half way

Never have i been in a situation where i have felt the need to have a speed limiter.
Cruise control is a nice creature comfort but i never used that much either in cars that have had it fitted.
