So after all the thoughts and concerns around the new car, I finally plumped for my top choice.
I ended going a little over budget, but the car is worth it.
After my previous thread, I had two Corsa C 1.7 DTi Sxi's to look at.
Firstly travelled to Luton, to look at one with 123k on the clock. The advert was a total lie! It only had 2 mths Mot, no tax, the boot would not hold up on its own, and it smoked rather badly, suggesting it had been sitting for a while, and the killer, no air con! (The advert was in total contridication of the state of the car) so I walked away from this one for obvious reasons.
However the second car, again a 1.7 DTi Sxi with 90k on the clock, full Vauxhall history, AC, black three door, was as described, and in excellent condition, a deal was struck at the car was brought back from Walsall to Northampton.
Overall and so far, Im very pleased, its comfortable, seems very well built, and most importantly sips fuel. Some economical driving has seen some great ecomony so far, whilst it packs a little bit of poke. Feels lively around town, and will hold its own on the motorway. A good allrounder.
And happily to report, I have not found anything that is broken, or doesn't work!
Only negative point is that the wipers are shocking! So have ordered an retro fit aero kit from Vauxhall.
Very happy indeed.

You didn't waste anytime !
I think you made the right choice going for the 1.7 over the 1.3 cdti.

Nope, I couldn't be without a car for long to be honest, there is only so much time you can borrow the other half's car, or get lifts etc.
Didn't want to be a burden!
