if my HU is rated at 4 x 50 Watts, does this mean each channel is recieving 50 watts peak or RMS? or am i way off the mark altogether?

its 50 watts peak, it ill be around 20 RMS.

so if i get a small amp about 200 watts peak my 6x9s will sound a hell of a lot better?

well i dont have a sub now, what about if i planned to get one in the future, what sthe problem about it? apart from the fact i only have one RCA output from the HU!!1

ah well, dj voodoo helped me out anyways fella. looks like the 6x9s may get an amp all to themselves rather than a sub in the boot
