Manchester City today unveiled their plans for a giant new training complex that the club claim will be the best in the world.
The 80-acre site next to their stadium in east Manchester will take years to be completed - with the first step being whether planning permission in given in December - and will contain a 7,000-seat mini-stadium, 15 full-size pitches, and sleeping accommodation for 72 senior and youth players.
Brian Marwood, the club's chief football operations officer, said: "This could be the most important investment the club has ever made under its new ownership.
"This is part of a 10-year strategy for long-term sustainable success.
"Phase one culminated in the club winning the FA Cup and qualifying for the Champions League last season. This signals the beginning of the next phase.

As much as they are cunts and ruining a lot of aspects of modern day football, this type of thing can only be seen as good on a number of levels for English football and Manchester as a whole.
World class facilities that will create allsorts of jobs.

^Exactly what I thought!
Complete cunts for "proving a point" and trying to become one of the most well known clubs in the world, but at the same time, its creating some decent jobs, and some very good players will come from their, using the best kind of facilities.

Never heard that one before
Although, instead of using their pretty good youth system, they ruin it by splashing shit loads on superstar footballers, this not giving chances to their youth. Johnson and Ireland were doing pretty damn well before the stars came along. Look at them now!

They don't have a youth system, they have an Elite Development Squad.

Heard what one?
I'm not talking about their youth development system or millionaire footballers, I'm talking about construction jobs, coaches, physios, security staff, etc etc etc...

In the bottom pic the one on the left is already there. It's for athletics. As for the one in the top pic, feck knows Surely they aren't building a ground just for their ressies?!

When we sorted out our training ground and facilities, no doubt we got slated off by everybody for doing it, no one gave us the 'creating jobs' card just made me laugh a little. But Man City are doing it, so no doubt the media won't give it a mention about how much they will spend.

I see where Hamy is coming from, but looking back, Chelsea probably did it for the right reasons. City just want to be Barcelona/Real Madrid.
Hopefully in a few seasons Anzhi will piss all over city in Europe. Half being serious!

City will never be "barcelona" no matter how much money they throw at themselves. Even there fans are neanderthals.
I do like the idea for developing players for england though
