alright folks going to strip my corsa b the weekend of interior! is there much gains from stripping rear door cards spare wheel etc etc was going to just leave dash and front seats in?? how much weight would be lost ? is it really worth it? cheers people

Theres loads to be gained from taking out the rear seats, spare wheel and sound deadning.

For a road car, no.

That's coming from someone who did the exact same thing in my daily driver that i did around 20k a year in. I lived with it for 3 years but in reality it was completely pointless and just made it less pleasant to drive.

If you're chasing lap times then it's usually worth it, if it's a road car it really isn't worth the effort.

its off the road now trying to pick bits up for it for next year as and when i find them come up for cheap i.e strut braces, arb etc etc so it will be purely a track thrasher and a weekend b road erm masher? haha ! and if a cage comes up its all coming out any way, but just wanted some first hand experience about gains if any

In that case then, if it's just for fun, go for it

I've gone pretty all out on my track car, cut the inner door skins out, binned the sunroof, polycarb windows. Book figure for the weight is 1030kg, I got mine down to 828kg and that's after putting 40kg of rollcage back in it

just looking through your version 2 thread on your siggy! taking it to another level of weight saving lol! be careful it doesnt blow away mike! whats a book figure for mine mike its a non sunroof 1.4 sri shell no leccy windows or ps ?

I got my figure off Parkers but it only lists 1 1.4 SRi and it has barely any details on it, weight being one that's missing

i stripped out all my rear seats etc... as i was going for a journey to pic up some parts, made the mistake of going on a VERY VERY windy day, found myself sitting at 50mph on the motoway because the rear end was lifting off the ground

prefer it with seats in tbh. obv as said, track car without though
