I thought the fact you had 950 left and then totally blew it rather than thinking hhhmmmm ill clear the card, leave 500 in the account as a nice cushion for a rainy day, spend 50 on a nice meal and 100 on a bit shopping for her is the stupidist bit

I had been TOLD all our direct debits had come out and we had £950 left so spending some wasn't a problem. The problem was the fact the debits then came out all in one go and wiped most of it out. The fact we spent more on top was I suppose not the beat idea but it wouldn't have made much difference as the point is she fucked up and I believed her

Plus why bother clearing the card? It costs me a fiver a month on 0% and shows I can handle my credit on paper.

did she change all the direct debits to the same date then?
been thinking about doing that with mine (mortgage comes out on the 1st so thought about having everything else come out on the same date), but not too sure whether its a good idea or not.
