Anyone had experience of these? With the Mini going to free up some funds i still want something nice with good spec and have always liked these.

Can get what look to be decent Pre facelift ones for 3-4.5k

more than likely a C180k which i know wont set the world alight but not after anything rapid.

Or any merc info would be appreciated not much about the coupe's on the net.

My Uncle has one. Lovely lovely lovely car to drive, smooth, quick (enough).

Make sure the autobox selects first when you come to a stop, you know cos it'll go to pull away in the gear it was in, 3/4/5, and then drop into first, lurching you forward.

Want a manual preferably. Really like the interior on the facelifts is alot nicer but cant afford the extra outlay atm.

Rust.

Went to view one with my dad. Rear seat upholstery was coming apart, common problem for speaker grill to brake.
That is pre facelift too with shit instrument cluster and some of the interior is better in facelift.

Better cars out there..

Would you consider diesel at all?
I just bought a 530D E39 and I am overly happy with it and get 42mpg(manula 'box), whilst insurance is decent and tax is 135 pounds for 6 months.

Soemthing like this?

What are their auto's like compared to the E46's? as I'll be constantly comparing to that as the auto box was amazing

not sure mate in all honesty

I nearly bought one before the TT years ago and most that were available were manual. every auto I viewed was almost sold immediately but times change. If I recall they are quite a lazy box but so is the car - its a smooth comfortable ride rather than eager to drive

I drove both the C200k and C180k and the C200K was noticeably quicker

I can't see a lot of difference between the SLK 200K and the C180K.
You can feel the Merc box change gear, the gearbox isn't the best thing in the world. Manual would be better for you I should think.

Cheers, don't mind having something comfortable for a bit whilst i sort myself out. think C200k's may be slightly out of my price range though.

I imagine milage isnt too much of a problem if they've been looked after as there are loads of mercs around 150k miles and above.
