i just had a vx inlet manifold off ebay with a proted throttle body a manifold and a de cat system and ive had it rolling roaded at 110bhp without a chip. But although its not massive power the car drove completely diffrent and pulled a lot better especially higher up the rev range. Tbh it was great fun especially playing against bigger stuff and knowking it was only a 1.4.

well it might not have had 150bhp but it was plenty fun and a chip would obviously have opend it up more.

BHP figures in this thread are way out.

You wont ever get 150 bhp without spending thousands, some 1400 rally cars run 150bhp but they havent been built on a budget.

Another thing is that to make a 1400 run at decent power all that power is going to be right at the top, so hardly useable, its the same with any modded engine.

Despite me not liking XE's, Just fit one.
