Show me what you have
I fancy a tank set-up but Have no idea what I want,
I have a redundant fireplace I may use as somewhere for it to go?
Not sure though

i'd decide whether you want hard landscaping like rocks and stuff, or a planted tank with lots of greenery first.
plants can be quite hard to get right.
can't beat a few cichlids and lots of rocks if your not wanting marine setup.
+cichlids can be very hardy fish
