Can anyone recommend me an alternative to PayPal?

My company's PayPal account is now having payment holds placed AGAIN only 2 weeks after they decided we're not a dodgy company!

We've had the account open for nearly a year now (same with our eBay account) but we don't sell high volumes of things on there (only secondhand stuff occasionally). I was going to start selling loads of new things on there and on our website with PayPal but now this stupid payment hold thing is happening again and the arrogant twat I spoke to on the phone there a few minutes ago has made me decide to use someone else to process our payments.

I understand the reason for having things like this in place but IMO they are taking the piss. We aren't a dodgy company and we have 100% positive feedback on eBay.

(sorry )

Grin and bare it mate, just make sure everything is above board and you get constant feedback (40 a month to not get a payment hold again).

It's stupid, but their way of gaining interest I suppose.

I only sell about 3 or 4 things a month on there at the moment so that might be why

Fees wise I think they are the same as PayPal but I don't know many people that use them?

One alternative I've looked at is Barclaycard ePDQ.

Apparently it's £10+VAT/month + 3% processing fees per transaction.

With the volume of sales I anticipate making on the website, it's not much dearer than PayPal but it also means people don't need to use PayPal which a lot of people hate - I think this is something that stops some people from buying on websites sometimes.

Some places have it set up so you don't need to use a paypal account to buy, ie you just stick in your card details.

Not an easy task using ebay to sell and boycotting Paypal.

I don't have a choice with eBay but to use PayPal, but for my website I will definitely be going with someone else.

I can recommend SecPay (Paypoint), SagePay and Google Checkout.

Been using moneybookers which is now skrill for two years. Never had a problem. Cheaper than PayPal slightly and I'm sure it can be integrated with eBay with a few clicks.
