Looking under the front of my mums car the other day, and noticed she had a roll bar going around and across the front of the car. Looked on mine and it doesnt have one
How much difference do these make? Is it worth pinching one of another car, and are there any that are better than others, i.e. the GSi might have an uprated one?

yeah, in the dry they make a hell of alot of difference mate. I put one on my 1.2 8v, as the difference is superb. however, gotta be careful in the wet as these make the car understeer like the front wheels are on ice
1.6 models had a thicker antil roll bar, but i very much doubt u cud feel the difference between a std 1.4 8v one and a 1.6GSi one.
PS: did u still want my rims mate? astra mk4 ones.

Thinking that if I fit one it might reduce the feeling of being on a barge when going round corners . did you put yours on before or after you changed your standard suspension?
As for the wheels, im broke at the moment mate. Got loads of debts to pay, and a holiday at the end of next month, so moneys tight Sorry about that.

will definately help mate.......especially in the dry. I was only lowered on springs when i fitted minem and it was fine. Puttin my suspension back to standard this weekend, as well as goin back to 14"s. gonna keep the roll bars on i think. front and rear.

For vaux to put something like arb's on as standard then they must make a fair difference or they would do without the expense.
They reduce body roll alot. The front one does, not sure about the rear one.

rear one does help, but not as noticeable as front. its just means when u go into a corner, the back also remains stable, with a bit of lift off from the inner wheel.
Ur prob lookin bout £25 for one from a scrappers Rob, just make sure it aint bent etc! Oh and try and get one off a sport/GSi, as it will be thicker. (oh and u will need the clamps as well)

They did mate. Every model from the 1.4 8v's upwards. The only models never fitted with em were the 1.2 8v's..........
They can be found INSIDE the rear axle, quite hidden.

are great but if you have a 1.2 16v the gsi bar will not fit the front of your car.
PVD do lowering brackets which might help but not sure on that.
thicknesses vary across the range but bthe biggest are:
front: rear:
18mm (1.0&sxi) 18mm
24mm

He doesnt have a 1.2 16v mate, coz if he did, he would have a front anti roll bar already.
