Maybe, but you still have to sell it yourself, unlike a proper auction where there are other parties selling it for you, so it is very expensive really.

A proper auction house is normally around 10% to the seller and 10% to the buyer, so 10% for selling and they catalogue your stuff for you, sell it for you, deal with the buyer and collect the money for you... and no Paypal fee's / bullshit on top.
But then you wouldn't sell half the stuff you'd stick on ebay in a proper auction house..

The fee's are bad but combine that with the fact that the Buyer is king and they can arse rape you at the drop of a hat really does fuck me off!
My missus sold a second hand hoody and the person complained that it had been worn before and got their money back from PayPal (who took it straight out of her bank without even notifying her)..
How the fuck can you complain about a second hand jumper because it has been 'worn before'??
People on eBay need to get a grip!

Yes because 1000's of people haven't tried that already.
I just use Gumtree now, sold lots of high value stuff on there like my iPhone 4S. Easier and quicker to list and don't have to worry about fees. Not sure how long that will last though given its also owned by eBay

If its a local deal I ask the buyer if we can cancel the auction.
Also when I bought a mountain bike through ebay i get a free speedo by offering to cancel the auction
