Quick question, mum has an automatic (:facepalm license, however my car is manual.
If I was to add her onto my insurance, would she go down as;
Full UK
Provisional
(car insurance website doesn't give the option for Auto license)
Tried Googling but on my phone and can't find an answer on any credible website, thanks.

She wouldn't be able to drive your car anyway? (legally). Pretty sure Your insurance would be invalid if she got pulled or had an accident?

That's what I mean, legally what does she go down as? Reason I ask is because I read that an automatic license is the equivalent of a provisional manual? :s

I'm guessing he means for the lower premium benefit rather than for his Mum actually using his car, for that reason I'd guess it'd be fraud if you didn't give the full details of her license.
Edit: Sorry, didn't read it properly. Yeah she should be provisional I would've thought. Have a look at her license to be sure.

No?
I'm asking as my insurance is up and needs renewing and mother would like to be added on so she can drive to the shops to get food and then go back to the kitchen.

Just says code 78, will have to ring dvla or an insurance company and speak to some sales guy who won't have a clue.

Does it show provisional entitlements on there? If so, you're looking for category B

Right so she'd have to go down as provisional. She'll need L plates and someone to supervise when she's driving though.
