Don't see the point rooney was also banned for 2 games for swearing at a camera one of which an fa cup semi final game. Also one was a domestic incident dealt with by fa the other European dealt with by uefa, bound to be a difference in the approach

I thought the ban on Rooney was harsh in the first place. He lost the head for a moment and it was going to cost him and his country dearly. A 3 game ban over a season would be fine, but to get the same over a short tournament like the Euros was crazy. 2 games is probably more suited..
Doesn’t change the fact that the FA got involved and were able to get the ban reduced on a player who has a history of previous incidents though. Just look at the wild swinging he did at Coloccini in the Newcastle game earlier this year when Coloccini was on the ground. He must be a bit brain dead doing that after just getting banned from a major tournament for kicking an opponent..
