was it a new clutch cable?
Ive never snapped a clutch cable on any of my 15 corsas ive owned
was the cable ran freely behind the back of the engine? was it kinked anywhere and fitted to the pedal correctly?
if the cable was new 20k ago i would take it back(if the 20k was done over a year etc, not last 5 years lol)

Clutch was replaced 3 months ago
I don't understand it, as far as i'm aware it was fitted properly.
Yep i replaced it in 2010 with a brand new First Line product from Parkers, no reciept tho so don't honestly think that i'd have a leg to stand on.

was it a genuine part - or some cheap knock off??
in all honesty if it was a motorfactors part then thats probably the reason it went so early - buy genuine imo

So without knowing the make, where he got it, or whether it was even the right one you've immediately come to the conclusion that it was because he bought from a motor factors.
Laughable

Motor factors ones for Fiesta RS1800 always snapped, nothing but genuine were any good.

I use motor factors clutch cable and I slam the crap out the pedal when changing. Not snapped one yet.

I'll go with user error apart from that

just changed mine. when you ran it over the pedal, did you open the retaining clip to let it sit in the groove?

It was a knock off part, 12 quid.
Just figured out that there are 2 cables to choose from on the 1.6, one being slightly shorter than the other.
Bought the slightly longer one this time as we think it had the wrong one fitted last, which was being over-stretched.
