i imagine with the new regs you may also place yourself in the position of getting hassle from the police more, bit like window tints

True that. But i can imagine it being like every other piece of legislation that's a bit of a grey area. Tbh, i can't see what the issue is with them, apart from obviously twats that have the blue ones that aren't adjusted properly. I have 4300k and have them adjusted properly and never had any issues with people complaining or flashing me, not even had the police say anything about them the numerous times i've been stopped.

so is it worth getting these?
even tho i no a mot'er that wud more likely turn a blind eye

4.3k is the best one to go for. I have the 6k in mine and it's a bit to blue.

Products on the lens or light source that obviously reduce the light's intensity or change its colour will become a reason for failure – applies to front/rear position lamps, registration plate lamps, stop lamps, rear fog and direction indicators,
Headlight requirements are updated to take account of the particular characteristics of High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamps.
HID headlights can cause dazzle if they are dirty or aimed too high so car manufacturers must fit headlamp cleaning and levelling systems. A car will fail if a mandatory headlamp cleaning or levelling system is missing, doesn't work or is obviously defective.
Vehicles fitted with aftermarket HID systems must also be fitted with properly working washer and levelling systems.
If a headlamp bulb is not seated correctly the resulting beam pattern will be indistinct and this will result in a test fail.

I fitted 55w 6000k hids on an e46 bm with projector lights and cleaners, but not self levelers as yet. Looks passable from outside, ill leave it like that for MOT

Bastards, they changed the wording with regards to the working washer and levelling systems Last time I read it, it stated they may be fitted, not must be fitted
