Been looking about the internets just out of curiosity really. Came across a Monaro V8 5.7 These any good? Are they actually a Vauxhall or an Ausie car with Vaux badges? They look very similar to Pontiac GTO's but iirc they are 6.0 V8?
Any info and is £6,000 good for a 54 plate, with Full: SH, MOT and Tax with 50k miles?

They are basically GTO's but slightly different.
Remember Vauxhall is GM as is Pontiac and Holden.

Oh not too bad then? IS there other cars that share the 5.7 V8 Engine?

Lots of American GM cars probably, namely the Corvette and Camaro, and the Australian Holden HSV.

Ive had a look at them £6k is good IMO, MPG is horrible even on motorways etc but There doesn't seem t be many reliability problems.

MPG is always going to be bad with a 5.7 V8
very nice looking cars, if i could afford it i'd have one. but i think i'd pay the extra for the 6.0

Car is a Holden rebadged for both Vauxhall and Pontiac
Tax is cheaper on the pre 2006 which that one would be. 400+ otherwise.

I was looking at getting one, found insurance was a nightmare!
It would have been cheaper for me to insure a Jag XK-R, Porsche 911 etc etc than the boggo 5.7 Monaro.
Strangely, even the 6.0 VXR was cheaper to insure than the lower spec one...

I had a quick look last night. Not a massive amount of them for sale. I'm in the same situation as Mike, I can't afford the VXR, although i'd prefer it
