I am buying new tyres and have got a quote from a local garage for £270 but can buy them online and get th fiited by a back street garage for £250 . Would you rather buy them from a reputable tyre dealer for £20 more or buy them online and save the £20.

for me whatever is easiest
For the sake of £20 you can get them supplied and fitted by the same people which is surely easier

Pros - you get them quicker plus fitting is included
Cons - you pay a bit more and have to wait to get the tyres then drive down with them in car to get them fitted
I buy my tyres online as no garage can get near the prices, but then I don't really trust garages with my car either so I get my mate to do my tyres.

They both will be in stock by friday by both places. I have already managed to get the local garage to drop £80 of the price. They can not match the other price.

I'd just go to the local garage tbh it sounds like you'll have more come back if they damage your wheels back street garages will probably just say fuck off

Legit? What's wrong with buying them online and getting them fitted locally?

I saved money by buying online and taking them to the local part worn place to get them fitted, they scratched both wheels massively one right across the spokes like you couldn't even do if you were trying to damage them, refurbed and that was terrible job as well.
Not really worth saving the money as going to somewhere who can actually work a tyre machine.

problem is as well, buying them online, then taking them to be fitted, the garage doesn't really make money for that so they can't really be bothered, or charge tenner per tyre. which no doubts people would complain about thinking its only a tyre etc.
there is no reason why a local garage can't fit a tyre properly though. don't be put off by that at all.

Local is good and I would normally say a privately run place is better than a big name.
That place I used though, shocking.

As long as they turn up and aren't a godyear don't see what you're on about really? A lot of tyre suppliers sell on eBay.

I was a bit confused by that too, I bought my track tyres from eBay.
