Not got a clue what you can get although wouldnt mind a HP with beats providing they dont overheat like they used to, oh an no Dell, too many in the family that have had issues.

My HP I had about 2 years ago broke after 13 months, GPU/CPU fried.
Thought the new Dells were supposed to be good now?
Go for a Samsung, look at Currys/PCWorld, Comet, etc

my brothers dell has been wiped three times, my sisters twice, my mums hasnt but the screen went on it. I know they download a lot of shit but im just looking for something reliable, having said that theres were all around the £400/£450 so may say something.
My old HP got hot and shut down due to poor cooling but never needed anything doing.
Will start with the links, thanks Rich

Don't buy a hp/dell. Never had a problem with toshibas, the Lenovo stuff we have in work is pretty decent. Never tried dell so couldn't speak for them and obviously I rave about apple being a mac owner

Why are you telling him not to buy a Dell if you have no experience with them?

Yeah I'm not a fan of HP laptops. On the flip side, you'll start to see lots of cheap HP laptops now that they've announced their exit from the consumer PC/laptop market.
Still wouldn't buy one though. In fact, after buying my MacBook Pro I don't think I'll ever buy another Windows based laptop

Yeah don't think I'll be going back to windows based computers, did look at building a hackintosh for the spare bedroom to sack off the pc, fancy a mac mini but I may as well set up the MacBook in there as I don't use that often enough

That's probably for a reason but you should be able to find similar. Check eBay for deals with 3 year nbd warranty.
