£200 isn't much of a budget TBH. The all in one systems often don't have as many connection options as a dedicated amp and speakers but they will be way out of your budget.

Something like this should be ok if you want to stay LG although I cant find much about what inputs it has.

If not bothered about LG this Pioneer looks decent enough, probably has a few more connections that the LG..

Or maybe this Sony..

I an Onkyo 505
Sammy Bru-ray
Kefs fronts and centre
Cheap Gale rears
Gale sub (tis good tho)

Mines on a tight budget and the amp and speakers have been hit hard for 4 years no worries!

My best advice, spend the most money you can Speaker cable
Dont be sold on fancy Opticals of HMDI cables for cheaper budget stuff! Just gold plated at least!

With a £200 budget cabling will be the last thing to worry about.
For HDMI/optical either eBay cheapos or go to Poundland.

My mum has bought a LG blue ray cinema system a while ago, sounds ok but only has one HDMI input. Depending what other inputs it has and how you run your xbox (HDMI or component cable?) It may not be much use to you. I'll find out which model it is when im home, it was around £150.

If he's only connecting a SkyHD and Xbox he should be fine. I'm far from an expert but I think Sky box directly to tv via HDMI and optical to blu ray/amp for sound, Xbox to blu ray via HDMI in, then HDMI out from blu ray to tv. I think.

Yes, but if you want 5.1 sound you need inputs to the amp, which in your case will also be the blu ray player.
There is no point connecting the Sky via HDMI to the amp, you need an optical cable for Sky boxes to output 5.1 unless something has changed recently.

Why don't you look at getting a dedicated amp and speaker package and let the PS3 play blu rays for you?

i looked at 5.1 surround sound systems for around 200-250 quid and most seemed a bit low end.

my dad paid 500 quid for his LG 5.1 years back and it still sounds fantastic.

if you do find a good one though (with floor speakers rather than wall mounted ones, let us know please.

£200 is really not alot to be spending on a full surround sound system.

If your on a shoe string budget, I would consider looking at the KEF Eggs + amp and ignore the BR player for the time being.
The Eggs + Amp will be more than £200, but it'll be a great starting point.
