just wondering, what makes it fail the emissions test, because its mot time soon for me, i dont think my car will fail its emissions but does anyone know what makes the emissions to high????

Or Lambda sensor dodgy , blocked or damaged Cat.

i cant remember wot the senor is called (probably the cat) but thats wot mine failed on! It cost £99 to get or £201 for them to get it and fit, I got it for £99 and it took me 5 mins to fix!!

it was the senor that goes from the engine to the front of the zorst

Thats the Lambda sensor, aka oxygen sensor. it picks up the amount of oxygen in the exhaust and sends a massage to the ECU to adjust the air/fuel mix.

any1 know what would cos a high CO emission cos i failed mine yesterday for that (3-4 times over what it sould of been)

and u didnt even spell it right the second time
try reseting the ecu that mite get the air/fuel mix in better shape,then clean out the carbon deposits from ure engine wit sum sorta cleaner eg.nitrox. apart from that its time to check the cat and make sure its in workin order maybe even giv it a flush through.

the reason u r likely to fail on a high co2 can be due to many things but when mine did it the problem was my vavle stem seals were shot, could also be piston rings
valve stem seals cost me 208 quid to replace with new head gasket (to be safe) cam belt and all the extra little bits

If you give the car a right thrashing before the test so its really hot then the emisions will be lower.
If they are high then you have a problem with something as these engines are designed to run lean and economically.

Mine failed on emmisions last year it was the lambada sensor Cheers Lee
