Is it still quite swollen?
The more movement you can achieve with it, the better. As Fro said, all the clots need dispersing and breaking down and movement will do that for you.
Have you had scans and x-rays after it happened?

There's some swelling yea.
Didn't bother with scans or x-rays, firstly because I break bones on a regular basis so sick of the sight of hospitals, and secondly it was on a largely fatty area so figured it would be well protected!
The loss of feeling doesn't bother me too much, just the unsightly bruising that won't go, should have faded by now!

horse probably slapped your sciatic nerve which would explain the lack of feeling.

The reason I asked if it is swollen is because as the swelling increases, the nerve branches will all get compressed, so as the swelling goes down, you should gradually start to get the feeling back.
You should've got checked out really because there's a major artery [femoral] in the particular region of the leg.
It definitely needs a medic's opinion on it.

Doctor didn't seem too concerned, just put me on a steroid cream to bring feeling back, but told me that if it hadn't eased in couple weeks to come back, that was about a week ago. I did wait 2 weeks after doing it to go see doc like.
Can't upload pics as just on phone

I didn't realise you'd already sought an HCP's advice.
Just be careful in future.
