Why are they showing F1 on a sports channel?

They're not, they're showing it on it's own dedicated channel

If you have the sky sports package on virgin then you will get the F1 channel for free although Virgin will only have the SD not HD version

Ben G, you only need the HD package which is a tenner a month instead of what you're paying.

No he doesn't. As long as he already subscribes to the Sports Pack he will get it for free. No need to go for the HD package (obviously not in HD if you don't have the HD pack)

Think what Dave's trying to say is if you don't have the sports package but have HD then you will get the F1 channel

Dave's talking about Sky, Rob Virgin; think that's where the mix up is
This thread mentions the details anyway's but -
Virgin - You need the Sky Sports package, ~£20, to get Sky's F1 channel (at the moment it's SD only)
Sky - You either need the Sky Sports package (SD only) and/or the HD package, although if you haven't got Sky Sports then opting for the HD package is the cheaper option to get the F1 channel (plus it'll be in HD).
Freeview/Freesat - You're fucked

No what, Ben G?
And yes, what I was saying before was if you want the F1 channel then the cheapest way is to get the HD pack as it's a tenner cheaper than Sports.
