Think my cambelt has slipped today as its running with a misfire and banging top end. Sound like valve banging around. I wounding if it's a costly job to be done? If any on can help thanks.

Probably easier to swap in another engine than to take the head off that one. If its tapping according to engine speed then its bent, if its tapping like the head has come off the valve and it's jumping around in the cylinder, the head, bore and piston will be mince.

If it's slipped enough to have a valve making contact with a piston in one cylinder that would mean that the corresponding firing cylinder would also be making contact does it not?
