I have narrowed down these two springs brands. I've heard of Spax but not of H&R, are they any good?

I also want to get some new shocks as my existing ones @ 108k miles have had it, but I think I might have to stick with standard as I can't find anyone that sells aftermarket shocks for my car - well not unless they are the same as say a Mondeo ST200/ST24?

My car is a Ford Cougar for those that don't know.

H&R Are pretty good, usually do more upmarket shit for Bmw / Audi etc etc.

I've had spax in the past and put 30k on the springs and all were good. Up to you I guess.

No idea RE Shocks though.

H&R are very gd suspension manufactures, there coilovers are some of the best I have used on my cars.
As for suspension for a ford cougar unknown kw do there variant 3 coilovers (shock and spring in one unit) but they work out expensive
