Agreed when slouched you look straight ahead but the effect of slouching is your back is not up-right and thus looking straight ahead actually means your looking above the horizontal (but not 'up').

Right, I've gone to great lengths here to try and explain this to those who think its OK to put a TV on the ceiling because you slouch when watching it:

Even when slouched, your head naturally stays at the same angle as when sitting upright, try it, youll be amazed. To be at the point whereby your looking up when slouched you'd have to tilt your head back which unless you have something to rest it on would soon become uncomfortable.

Thanks for your time.

I've always thought that Ash. Uncomfortable looking up at a TV. Nice picture too.

i have head rests on my sofa so in my case it would be ok to put a tv above a fireplace, but mines low anyway as i'm not retarded.

Taken me half a day to realise you mean 'above' not 'about'.

Just tried it and lets agree to disagree. When slouching my head does rest on the couch as i am slouching. If you slouch like in your picture and then look down towards the TV its not the ideal position for your neck as it should be parallel to your body. When you say your head naturally stays at the same angle that does't mean its good for you.

Thanks for the picture to confirm my point

They didn't. They were told to sit up properly if they were going to watch the TV
