Someone has claimed that the GFs grandad has hit their car while parking in a car park while they were sat in the car (yet they didn't get out and say anything) and he is claiming he didn't and I have no reason not to believe him.

He has also had a letter and a form from the police wanting to know his side of the story as they think he has left the scene of an accident, even though he apparently hit their car while parking so hardly left the scene of an accident.

Any advice about what to do?

There isn't any cctv in the car park.

Write back to the Police, say that he has not hit anybody and you believe this is a fraudulent claim. CC the insurance company.

Wait and see what reply you get, but never admit anything.
