they were probably partyly to blame due to the ammount of people you can get in though

Terraces have set limits on the amount of people its safe to hold though. That was breached that day, had there been seats, it would have been even more carnage.
Simple really. If a lift says it can take 5 people, dont blame the lift when it falls to the ground if you try to fit 30 in.
