As a serious suggestion, cut the post on the front page down to a paragraph with a link to read more about it.
Nobody will read through that.

Wish I did this when I went,
although I bought a hardback A4 PAD and wrote and taped loads of things in it, also got a load of people I met and lived with to write in it

From what I seen, you didnt create a hyper link? Did you also create a new page with a full copy of the blog entry?
Method to do this then:
1, Create seperate page for specific blogentry. Copy full entry into this page.
2, Create short paragraph on your main page with following link at the bottom:
<a href="http://your_link_here.co.uk">Read More</a> which links to your new page
