Wrapping that manifold for your own pleasure yes but for the engine/turbo it's an awful idea.

With a turbo system, you need to get all that extra hot air in and out as quickly as possible. Wrapping the hot side/exhaust will just confide the temperature and cause movement which then leads to failure/poor flow.

wrong, heatwrapping is extremely beneficial on a turbo car such as this, even your own evo so you should know this

you want to keep the gasses in the manifold and exhaust hot , hotter gasses will move quicker and therefore aid spool, not to forget keep engine bay temps down.

Turbo manifolds obviously get much hotter than normal manifolds. Wrapping that in material that will insulate the heat puts severe stress on the manifold/bolts/fittings. This stress can cause the metal to move and even warp therfore damaging the construction.

Agreed keeping engine bay temps low is good and benefical but I've never heard of containing heat to be a good thing

are you serious? heatwrap that manifold, uppipe and downpipe if you really want to go all out. , thats why if you have the money people ceramic coat as thats even better then heatwrapping and lasts longer.

never heard of any stress on bolts,

Hotter gasses move faster then cold ones so you have ALOT to gain by heatwrapping your manifold and upipe etc on a turbo

Yes I am serious. You never heard of stainless cracking when being wrapped? It has happened.

I think anyone would agree they would rather have the heat in their exhaust manifold improving spool, rather then the heat in engine bay increasing inlet temps etc, ask your evo lot they will tell you.

OK in that respect, you're right.
Look at the design of his exhaust. Look how many changes of direction the gas has to undertake. If you wrap that whole system and add a turbo, it won't last half as long.
