Had a customer in today, said there was a lot of noise from the front when she brakes and they arnt working very well
though nothing of it and stuck the car on the ramp ready to do the discs and pads

popped the wheel off and was fully shocked at the state of these discs

ive never seen anything this bad in my life, you could literally pull bits off the disc with you fingers it was that thin
and yes the disc has warn through to the vents in the middle and yes the disc has split into 2 pieces, the hub part and the disc itself :/

Was going to say that surely something like that would stick out come MOT time!

Reminds me of that post about the HiLux with wafer thin disks!

Proves the point doesn't it, yet you and me who check our cars on a regular basis get raped for insurance who's more likely to cause the accident, someone who looks after their car, or someone with a brake disc in two pieces

I did have an accident last week but was only very minor, my discs and pad are only a month or so old, she would have to start braking about a mile away.
You would have to be pretty brave to be the lollypop lady near her

Nearly spat me cuppa out in her face when she said that

should have thrown her keys down a grid before she ends up playing ten pin bowling with a bunch of kids crossing the road. i think basic vehicle maintence or at least a thorough check should be on the test. i got asked how i know the horn works on mine.

i have to do a vehicle check every time i take a vehicle out at work, check everything from lights to tyres and oil etc. im not saying i do this on my own car but i like to think i keep my eye on the essentials.

And people complain the driving test is too hard in this country Too easy in my opinion.

I definitely agree that some more extensive vehicle checks should be included.

We need to take a leaf out of the Finn's book. They have to do a certain amount of time on skid pans and the rest.

Aussie one is relatively extensive too in terms of restrictions for new drivers and experience required to get a full license.

yer we did a full check on it before she left. Hence us finding she had no oil and so on
I do agree that people should be made aware of basic shit like this on there drivers test. its just dangerous and silly tbh
