There's a 05 plate 1.9 8v cdti 120 design locally up for £1295
Looks nice and clean 130 Ish thou miles said there is some history but not full
And a 2.0 16v dti 04 plate elite model up for £1600. 147k full vaux service history tax and test etc again looks really nice
What should I look out for? Seem to be hit and miss :/
Also the elite one is a ex company car and the bloke selling it doesn't know what bhp it is neither do I lol are they 100?

I used to love these Vectra's, but now im starting to think they look dated, the pre-face models. 2.0 DTi will be 100bhp, don't think i would want 1 in a C though, they are old Vectra B engines.
If its just for a cheap to run car, i would go for the CDTi.

The 16v diesels are way better IMO.
EGR valves like any other vauxhall are common

I prefer the elite 1 (16v) purely because of the colour and leather seats.

The elite looks nice. massive boot space, loads of room inside and cdti's are good engines.

the 1.9CDTI on the preface is prone for doing its injectors in it will run rough, power will be down and it will put out a fair bit of smoke when you boot it.
EGR's as mentioned do soot up.
also the boost valves are prone to getting clogged up, or snapping in the head, its a little black clip at the back of the head that unscrew's so easily cleaned.
other than that not a lot to go wrong, listen for engine rattling/knocking as that could be the clutch and flywheel on its way out, if that goes or is going expect to be relieved of a few hundred £££ to sort it out.
the 120CDTI doesnt have the inlet problem that the 150CDTI has and a decent tuning box or map will see you around 145bhp+.
the DTi if its the 2.0 will be 99bhp if its the 2.2 it will be 122bhp. Leak off pipes usually cause crap starting, and rumoured to have fuel pump failures on the older DTI engine's.
they are a big car, and cheap now for what you get, just be careful as there are a lot of ex taxi's and nails out there.

Also check for banging from the rear. Upper Control Arm bushes are a common fault on them. Cheap fix for a new UCA. Fiddly job though.
