Evening all,

Just done a compession test on my 2006 1.2 Corsa C SXi (Z12XEP) as she is losing coolant without a visable leak.

The results were (in bar and the scale stopped at 21!):

Dry 1 | Dry 2 | Wet 1 | Wet 2
Cylinder 1 15 15 21+ 21+
Cylinder 2 14 15 19 21+
Cylinder 3 15 14 18 21+
Cylinder 4 11 12 18 20

Can anyone advise on what the above might suggest is wrong?

Thanks in advance

They do seem rather high yes! Time for some maths

Compression ratio for this engine is 10.5:1

So times that by 1.38 to give a reading in bar, which is: 14.49 bar.

So your dry readings are looking ok. How much oil did you put down the bores for a wet test? You only need a very small amount (5-10ml's). Any more and the oil becomes a complete seal giving very high compression.

Cracked head??

Faulty cylinder head gasket is normally low compression across 2 cylinders.
