Whats the best? any recommendations?

i was thinking of just getting the Unibond stuff from screwfix but is there anything better out there? or in fact anything cheaper worth using?

this is what i usually do, if it's too bad damage for body filler then it'll need more than just chemical metal imo

Yep just some deep curb marks.

Wouldn't normal body filler just crack/fall out over time though given the type of application?

Most kurb marks will sand out. And as Graeme said, normal car body filler. Won't fall out no, after all it's only going on metal. As it does on car body panels.

I used 120 grit wet and dry to sand out some really heavy marks and damage on a wheel using an orbital sander

Well of course, if the application requires it. I was more pointing out what can be achieved as opposed to using filler.

it all depends on the wheels etc.. you wouldn't wana sand out deep damage if it'll mis-shape the wheel etc.

but anyway normal bodyfiller will work as previously said.

Get it welded up and skim it down . Body filler is abit rough for wheels

Peoples understanding of body filler seems to be far from the reality of it..
Some seem to think that if something has filler on it then it's realllly bad...

Tbh there not to bad. Some of the doors you get now ate crazy. Had a car in last week. Think it was a Kia or Hyundai and the door with big repair on. About 3 different lines through the door all fading to nothing.

Such a big repair. But the way it goes now. Insurance companies prefer you to save the panels.

I don't mind doing the swage lines like Audi/vw wheel arches. Ones like the hilux above are a pain when the have a sharp line but also curve more than one way.

Like you say though Graeme insurance want everything g repairing, which can be a pain when things are proper fucked
