So we had Microsoft announce surface, and the market is already heavily saturated with tablets. Now google will be announcing their new tablet. So is this a good move for consumers, the costs being driven down? Seems a good buy to me....

Very interesting to see they have not tried to take on the larger iPad and gone for the smaller screen (which the Samsung/Amazon has failed with so far)

I read earlier that they are concentrating on the cheaper, smaller products before taking on the ipad. Things like the kindle fire etc.

Can't help but think it'll be too small, quad core though so should be very responsive; their promo video states "we declared a war on lag". At $199/299 it's very cheap, however the amount of space around the screen is massive and makes it look clunky.

Ripped off slightly as usual; £169 and £209.

If it's running Android apps will probably crash a lot like they do on Android phones.

Hmmm released as early as July?

I'm in Florida next month and have been considering picking up an Android Tablet. I've currently got an iPad but the OS drives me crazy compared to my Galaxy S2 phone.

For $200 it's hard to ignore this one, and the Nexus phone is a decent piece of kit.
