Got my golf up for sale at the moment but have my new car already. Golf has no insurance so Is stored off the road on a private driveway as I transferred my policy to my new car. Guy at work says I will get into trouble for having a car that's got tax and mot but no insurance. He says only way I can get around it is to sorn the car which I can't really be bothered to do as I think a car with no tax is another reason for someone to beat me down on price. Is he correct or just trying to wind me up?

He's correct but it's up to you to take the risk. I have done in the past for the exact reason above.

He's correct. If it's taxed, it has to be insured and vice versa iirc.

they give you a month to sort it anyway so as long as your car sells within that period, you'll be fine.

I've been fined myself for not SORNing, twice.

That's not the same situation but they do fine people, bunch of cunts.

Utterly stupid ridiculous law which penalises honest people.
